    ......I resemble that remark! :D

The Emperor struck back tonight with $394 in 10 hrs, at 1.38 a km or something. Some nights I even impress myself just a little bit... :D

Hey, does the Australian Taxation Office read the BB? ;)

Lost his last election? The TV news reported that Bob resembled a globe - you know - flattened at the poles (polls). [IMG] [IMG] Oh never mind. It was funny in November.

[IMG] [IMG] and my vote to the gentleman from The Salt City, home of the Syracuse Orangemen and a very polluted Onondaga Lake. Drive fast. Signal lights are for sissies!

Just saw this, elsewhere than on the BB, actually.

Sorry I was not around to be considered as the worst -'er I mean best taxi driver, at the time the poll was instituted.

Motto of a good driver is to always agree with the customer.

    "Whatever we think is fare!"

Actually, I saw it when looking up "taxi fares" in australia, in an attempt to come up with a snappy answer to a comment Pete made on another thread, and after looking up New Castle, Australia, and taxi rates, hit this entry, which was a page from the BB. My 'snappy comment' directed at Pete is be found here in post #13.

I also intended to make one to both you and Pete regarding being a hack in another post, but can't seem to find it. It had to do with a statement you made about having your 'hand' on something, or something in yor grasp, and I said it was a 'flag'. But that you might have to explain that to Pete, considering his youthfulness and today's pushbuttons, eletronic and automated 'meters' that engage when a person enters the taxi, etc. If even you don't know abut 'flag', and/or "high flag", PM me and I'll explain, as I had over five years as a hack in 1970-75 - which is almost back to 'the dark ages' for some, today.

"High Flagging" is very much alive and well, too!

I also call that "flying the flag", as well.

I voted for Pete, but mostly because his other vehicle is a TARDIS.

I've never had the privilege of riding in a taxi that had a driver whose name I could pronounce.

The last one was nice, though....the name was about 16 letters or so, and only 3 of them were consonants.

That worked out well, since he drove like a wildman. Thus, when I screamed in terror, "IAEEEEIEOOOEEE!" he thought I was calling his name.

He turned around, and slowed down.
