    Rev. Lowery said:

Just because the Bible doesn't say there are 2 Giants and 2 spears ppl assume oh there's a mistake.

But the Bible does say that there were two giants (and therefore presumably two spears). It's the people trying to find fault with certain Bible versions (I will not mention any names, but their translation of choice rhymes with "Ving Rhames") who are claiming there is a contradiction, though it is patently obvious to the most casual readers that the two giant-killings in question were two different events separated by geography and several decades.

Yeah, he signed with the Jericho Jammerzz of the Middle East League for an undisclosed bonus. His "home" team, the Gath Wrath, called him a "traitor". Led the league in slamdunks, rebounds, & technical fouls that season.

I don't know, but I love it when a plan comes together. :D

I heard that he also led the league in blocked shots.

1 Chronicles 20:5: “And there was again war with the Philistines, and Elhanan the son of Jair struck down Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.”

Besides, as I read it, the KJV translators added to God's word "the brother of" to 1 Samual 17:49 for clarification.

they did not add to if you compare with 1 Chronicles 20:5. It just clarifies who Elhanan killed.

Addition in italics in order to avoid any misunderstanding is often inevitable and therefore all the translations use such method.
Blaming it as the addition to the Bible is ridiculous without knowing the difficulty of translation.

    DeadMan,
1 Sam 17:49 has no Brother in KJV. You may be talking about 1 Sam 21:19.
show me any other translation which you think doesn't have any addition in italics at all, then I will point out the additions there.

It's interesting to note that the famous Vatican MS says Elhanan killed Godolias, not Goliath, in 2 Sam. 21:19. The problem of this one being the well-known giant's son (2 Sam. 21:22) or brother (1 Chr. 20:5) still remains. Maybe he was both, as one has already supposed.

    "Who killed Goliath?"

    "I," said the Petrel,
"with my bow and arrow--err, sling and stone.
    I killed Goliath!"
