The 2017 - 2018 flu season saw 61,000 American deaths due to the flu virus that season yet we did not shut down the financial market and workforce of the nation.

This Is How Many People Die From the Flu Each Year

FEBRUARY - MARCH has seen 590 COPVI-19 deaths. it seems (China Model) to take 3 - 4 months to clear the air of the virus or perhaps a projection of less than 10,000 total American deaths (putting aside hysteric projection statistics).

Given that comparison would the president be wrong if after his two week plan to flatten the COPVI-19 mortality curve ends that he calls for a staggered return of the workforce while protecting the group at the most risk (seniors)?

The flu does not and has never overrun our hospital system in a matter of matter of weeks! The mortality rate in Italy right now is 10% and as of yet showing no sign of slowing down. I am sick of hearing the comparison of this virus to the typical flu!

So far China with 1 1/2 billion people seems to have limited their spread and WE are looking like we will surpass their numbers within a week and there is little hope of stopping there.

So how many cases will there be in 2 months, we simply don't know. What will the mortality rate be, we don't know that either.

Further, I grow more and more suspicious of China seeming to have so much control over this virus that started with them.

At 1 million infections at 6% mortality rate we have matched the supposed flu deaths of 60,000. What if 10 million get infected, how about 100 million? How does 60,000 x 100 grab you?

Yes, I think it could be a huge mistake to let our guard down before we know what this virus will do and how well we will handle it.
