Administration wants NEA to push his agenda

The Obama Administration is attempting to use the government-supported NEA and the "Arts Community" to push his agenda. -

"Discussed throughout the conference call was a hope that this group would be one that would carry on past the United We Serve campaign to support the President’s initiatives and those issues for which the group was passionate...

"Through providing guidelines to the art community on what topics to discuss and providing them a step-by-step instruction to apply their art form to these issues, the "nation’s largest annual funder of the arts" is attempting to direct imagery, songs, films, and literature that could create the illusion of a national consensus….

"This is just the beginning. This is the first telephone call of a brand new conversation. We are just now learning how to really bring this community together to speak with the government. What that looks like legally?...Bear with us as we learn the language so that we can speak to each other safely…"

Art was considered to be one of the most important elements to strengthening the Third Reich and purifying the nation. Political aims and artistic expression became one. The task of art in the Third Reich was to shape the population's attitudes by carrying political messages with stereotyped concepts and art forms.

Most false movements rely heavily on the arts for their propaganda. Right now I'm thinking of books I have from the Adventists and Jehovah's Witnesses. The Watchtowers are colorful and interesting to look at. So are the Bible Story Books and another Adventist catechism-like volume (I can't remember it's name right now.)

Now contrast that with God's commandment concerning graven images. God will be worshipped in truth and in spirit, not with dazzling spectacle.

Anyway, I was thinking of old photos and film footage of Hitler and his rallies, and how absolutely spectacular and bigger-than-life they were. I've been waiting to see the same kind of thing from Obama.

Both the Third Reich and the Soviets used artwork and film effectively. It's easy to see how it stirred up the population, especially since there were few alternatives to the popular media of that time.
