I think James is quoting Amos 9:11. That was a prophecy concerning returning from the Babylonian exile, if I remember correctly, rebuilding the Temple etc. All that was done during that time, along with the coming of Messiah and the expectation the Gentiles would be brought into the family of God.Then help me understand. My thoughts with questions.
V 16 Μετὰ (prep) ταῦτα (G5023 pd Acc Pl n)
Μετὰ = after, with, among, hereafter, afterwards (with G3326) ------ ταῦτα this, these, these things, afterwards (with G3326)
What does Μετὰ ταῦτα mean with ταῦτα being plural? Who/what does it reference? In English should ταῦτα be followed by a comer?
I know, no Greek.
Is V 15 relative to V 8 as far as the giving of the Holy Spirit goes?
Is Ezek 36:22-25 relative to Acts 15:14.15
Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen (Gentiles), whither ye went. And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen (Gentiles), which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen (Gentiles) shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.
For I will take you from among the heathen (Gentiles), and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
After this, after these, after these things
From the foreshadowed, feast of the first-fruit of the Spirit, beginning Pentecost following the resurrection of Jesus and continuing until this day
After these have been taken out of, I will return.
Is my understanding absolutely wrong?
Does it appear to be, as written according to, that prophet in the word of God?
I don’t believe it refers to the 2nd coming of Jesus to establish a 1000 year reign on the earth.
peace to you
