Does it make you feel a little nostalgic for the glory days, billwald?

Kicking butt, taking names and hiding in the briar patch.

I was in Houston a couple of weeks ago when this story broke and it was every where you looked. Its a big story.

Rightly so, even if there was a crime committed by the young man there is absolutely no excuse for this kind of behavior by the police.

Insane!

There was no prelude to this at all...

The kid had surrendered...

No spitting... No kicking of private parts... Nothing...

At least they have been charged with crimes!

Remind me never to go to Huston!

Not sure what you mean by no prelude. There was a reported robbery and a fleeing suspect, perhaps even a report of violence or a weapon.

It's difficult to see whether he was resisting or spitting when there are so many officers blocking the view, but if he were resisting, this is pretty much exactly the wrong way to subdue him in this situation.

An officer alone, in some circumstance has to strike, baton, even kick someone, but here there are so many officers he should have been easily pinned by the number of bodies on him. Yet another case of pack mentality accelerated by righteous indignation and the excitement of the chase, and the inability to switch modes to a more humane approach.
