Abortion is already happening to. That doesn't mean we should sit on our hands and not oppose it.

One of these things is not like the other. Did you just try to compare giving a home to a foster child to killing unborn babies? Your're usually better than this.

Yes he did and appropriately as well. Both issues are in effect but hideous in nature and opposed by biblical Christians. Both need to be actively opposed even though they are already in effect. We do not just sit down and shut up.

Not sure why that has to be explained.

I didn't offer abortion up as a one-to-one comparison to homosexuals fostering a child. I offered it up as a comparison to illustrate that just because something is "happening" doesn't mean we need to lay down and take it.

So apparently giving up your child is somehow not being discussed here but another family giving that child a life outside of a foster home is somehow the bigger problem here.

Boy what a misrepresentation.

First they are two separate issues and one need not necessarily discuss both if one or the other is being discussed.

Second it is just that they are getting a home outside of a foster home. That is down playing the problem. It is that they are going to a homosexual home where they will be taught a perverted lifestyle.

By your line of thinking, we should back up every topic to its ultimate root cause and only discuss that.

Shall we hereby decree that going forward we only discuss why people haven't accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior? That would be the root cause of all issues, correct?

Two separate issues? One is the root of the problem (giving up for abortion) and the other is the result (adoption by same-sex couples) How in the world are they unrelated?

No, but it's just an observation on what things we will hardly ever discuss and how homosexuality has become Christians favorite sin to complain about. That's why in this case it's interesting to see the overlooking of the bigger sin in this scenario. I know that is a tangent from the OP but it is just something I have noticed. This is a political heavy message board so the gay thing is en vogue right now as the new boogeyman.

I can't speak for everyone, but adultery, sexual relations outside marriage, drug use, and a multitude of other reasons that lead people to give up children for adoption (or abort them) are just as sinful as homosexuality. I'll gladly discuss those topics on another thread which addresses them.

This thread, however, is about homosexuals and the effect on children/the family.

Fair enough. I believe that homosexuality is a sin but that's where my reservations stop regarding the reasons why I would prefer a child to go to a hetero couple. I would prefer them to end up in a Christian home but from a governmental standpoint I can think of no logical reason to forbid this. Kids aren't going to Christian homes all the time and adoption agencies can't realistically place these children based on religious principles.

Toddlers mimic the parent of the opposite sex. Boys put mommy's clothes on. Little girls put on shirts & ties. I think that's a scientific reason enough for governments to approach this very carefully.

And I don't think you can deny the nosedive our culture took when single parenting became acceptable.

But it is happening. Don't know how we can stop it. I simply pray for God's will to be done, in all things.
