Canada has shut down its embassy in Iran and is removing Iranian diplomats in Canada, according to a statement issued by Canada’s Foreign Minister, John Baird. Iranian diplomats were given five days to leave Canada.

Iran has called the decision hasty and extreme, and accused the Canadian government of having a long record of animosity toward the terrorist state.

Baird has also said Iran is the most significant threat to global peace and security in the world today. “Iran has engaged in racist anti-Semitic rhetoric and incitement to genocide and has shown blatant disregard for the protection of diplomatic personnel.

The Canadian government has designated Iran as a state sponsor of terrorism and enacted travel warnings for Canadians citizens going there.

“Because of the hostile decision by the government of Canada, the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ottawa is closed and has no choice but to stop providing any consular services for it’s dear citizens,” a note posted on Iran’s embassy in Canada stated.

Good for Canada. The Canadian leaders are showing what our President and most democrats in the USA are seriously lacking...a backbone.

Canadian Islamaphobia?

More like Canadian hypocrisy.

Canada and it's allies the US and Saudi Arabia are guilty of destabilizing and destroying more countries, killing more people and creating more terrorists in doing so in the 14 years of the "war on terror" than Iran has in 100 years.

Strange how the same countries that systematically use violence and intimidation in pursuit of political aims the most can get away with calling other nations "terrorist states".

Terrorist (1), n.

Actual meaning: Not us.

Usage: The terrorist using arbitrary violence outside of all international law and United Nations oversight to achieve political ends wasn’t working for us.

Terrorist (2), n.

Actual meaning: Not working for the state.

Usage: The terrorist using arbitrary violence outside of all international law and United Nations oversight to achieve political ends wasn’t flying a drone around Pakistan from the safety of a control room in the Midwest while chomping down on a bag of Doritos.

Some perspective . . .

U.S. and Its Coalition of Mid-East Dictators Kill 13 Times More Yemeni Civilians than Al Qaeda

Armed U.S. Drones Alone Killed Twice As Many As Al Qaeda …

A new report from the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights (UNCHR) documents the number of civilian deaths in Yemen over the year-long period between July 1, 2014 to June 30 of this year.

< snip >

The U.S. is the only nation flying armed drones in Yemen.

Adding up the numbers, approximately 304 civilians were killed by the U.S. and other coalition members in the past year … 13 times more than killed by Al Qaeda during the same period.

And there were twice as many civilians killed by armed U.S. drones alone than by Al Qaeda during this period.

Whew! Good thing we’re the good guys.
