.............Dan Miller, executive vice president of Heartland Institute, says one of the featured speakers is Apollo 17 astronaut Harrison "Jack" Schmitt, one of the last men to walk on the moon.

"Jack is somebody who has studied, as a geologist, global warming and climate change for many years," Miller explains, "and he is one of many skeptics who just doubts the severity and the causes of global warming -- especially as that fear is stated by alarmists, people who say that the earth is going to be drowning in melted glaciers and polar bears are going to die and so on."

iciclesAccording to Miller, the purpose of the conference is to show politicians and the public that the debate is not over. He adds that many scientists agree that climate change is natural.

"What is affecting this is not...mankind's contribution to [climate change]; that's insignificant," says the Heartland Institute spokesman. "What is significant are solar cycles on the sun, solar flares...solar wind. That is what really causes climate change here on the planet."..........

When global warming is happening on mars too I'd have to say it's natural.(unless we sent a bunch of cows to mars) But based on evidences left out by global warming loving scientists I do not believe global warming is happening. Otherwise iceburgs wouldn't be growing anywhere on this planet.

it was ten degrees in heavenly* Central Oklahoma this morning (but might be 60 on Inaugural day Tuesday).

* NOTE: Central Oklahoma is 'heavenly' cause Heaven is in the local calling answer. Yep, Heaven is a local call in Central Oklahoma.

That's silly. Nobody's doing that.

But we can take care of God's earth without engaging in bad policy based on junk science that can seriously mess up our way of life.

If Obama proposed a nuclear power building spree, one that would actually reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and foreign oil, that would go a long way towards reducing C02 in the atmosphere. Can't see that happening though. Nancy wouldn't let him.

You Republicans don't understand that most of the proposed solutions to the climate change problem will also clean up our air, land, and water? Sometimes the unintended consequence is more valuable than the intent.

A combination of both. In London, England when we burned coal for everything, we also experienced blinding smogs over the whole city. One could hardly see our home whilst walking down the street. After the government banned coal, it is amazing how clear the air is. Still som fog off the Thames, but that is natural.

Similarily in Ontario. Much of our air pollution comes from factories in the Ohio area where the government refuses to make factories install scrubbers in their flues.

In the West, mountain snows are suffering from polluted air coming in from Europe,,yes, Europe, and early runoff from mountains is polluting rivers in Alberta, Saskatchewan and even into Manitoba as far north as the Hudson Bay area.
