This guy rocks! I bet the manmade global warming crowd hates it when logic is employed.

talking about climate – it’s like having a car for three days and saying, ‘This is a great car.’ Well, yeah – it was for three days, but maybe in days five, six and seven it won’t be so good. And that’s what we’re doing here.”

“We have 100 years worth of data, not millions of years that the world’s been around,” Myers continued.

still more good stuff:

Dr. Jay Lehr, an expert on environmental policy, told “Lou Dobbs Tonight” viewers you can detect subtle patterns over recorded history, but that dates back to the 13th Century.

“If we go back really, in recorded human history, in the 13th Century, we were probably 7 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than we are now and it was a very prosperous time for mankind,” Lehr said. “If go back to the Revolutionary War 300 years ago, it was very, very cold. We’ve been warming out of that cold spell from the Revolutionary War period and now we’re back into a cooling cycle.”

Lehr suggested the earth is presently entering a cooling cycle – a result of nature, not man.

“The last 10 years have been quite cool,” Lehr continued. “And right now, I think we’re going into cooling rather than warming and that should be a much greater concern for humankind. But, all we can do is adapt. It is the sun that does it, not man.”

Priceless. I think Algore just coughed up his skull.

I think Dr. Lehr made some very good points. As a student of early American history I have often wondered how human global warming folks, like Al Gore, explain the warming trend that has been going on for the past several hundred years. After all, there is no more Beringia. I don't know if we are entering a cooling period or not, but I do know that if we are it will not slow down the human global warming folks for a minute.

That would be why it is not called global warming anymore, but global climate change instead, no matter if we warm up or cool down it's all our fault.

God, who made the earth, the heavens, and all that is in them, made it good and established the earth to support life on it. Before sin entered in and the curse on the field and death entered, a scourge to life, God made the plants which would be healing, and created the frogs which would eat the insects like misquitoes which pester us, and the scavengers like vultures and catfish and fungus which would take care of decay.

Most of the natural resources which he placed here for our use, return afterward back to a form which is acceptible and absorbed in the natural healing of the elements in the environment.

If there's any real concern I would have for the environment it is over our knowledge, use, and disposal of those few elements which even science knows to be a problem for our environment and for disposal....... i.e. the 'energy' saving light bulbs which use mercury and moves this element from those area where it is bound naturally with other minerals to disperse it into our environment and land fields: radioactive elements which are mined and concentrated and used, but which produce a depleted refuse which must be contained.... but science has found way to incorporate it into armaments which make a battle field an area of permanent radiological contamination for life...... and the genetic messing of the information which God established in a cell in a biological balance of nature but man is now experimenting and altering to produce unnatural plants, foods, bacteria, and other life forms. These are examples of the great threats to the environment which people like Al Gore will not touch. In fact he belongs to the eletist club which believes an ideal population for the earth is substainable at an 80-90% reduction. A past UN study (which I can no longer find) indicated that the resources of the earth, the land mass with climates which can support food production, and other resources of air, land, water, and vegetation ......... God made our earth with the capacity to support not just 6 billion people..... but 66billion people.

But so much of concerns with the environment is being promoted in the areas of those things which support life like concern over CO2, or over population control (the one child policy in China is the result of Western..... American scholarship imported into their philosophy), that our schools and our kids are being indoctrinated into a 'new religion'...... that of earth worship.

Our prosperity will return with a return of faith and trust in God: Until then, the science which is based upon disbelief, and upsurping His creative powers will be productive of ............................................................eventual ruin.

...

Here is the first sentence on that page:
// Unprecedented snow in Las Vegas has some scratching their heads – how can there be global warming with this unusual cold and snowy weather? //

This is a display of illogical ignorance. How can you hold it up as an example of 'logic is employed'. Let me see if I can explain graduate level stats to you.

the temperature at Las Vagas on one day is one data.
The fact it snowed is one data.
Global Warming is proved by billions of data points from all over the earth. Data the size of measuring the average daily temperature ALL OVER THE EARTH is rather hard to gather.

The easiest place to gather wide area data is over the seas, the ability to gather this data from satellites was only available about 20 lmaybe 25 years ago. The ability to compute from it maybe only ten years old.

Well, the data from NASA shows that 2008 (1 dec 2007- 30 Nov 2008) was the coolest world-wide year of the 21st Century (2001-2100). I predicted that back in august from the data up to that point.

By contrast, 2008 (world-wide) was Warmer than all but two years 1880-2000.

Google a chart of this information

2008 Surface Temperature Anomaly
Base Period: 1951-1980

This map of the world shows a real large 'hot' spot in the middle north of Siberia. 1/3 of the permafrost there melted. The 1/3 of the North Polar ice cap (ice floating on the Arctic Ocean) north of Siberia melted last summer. This was the first time in decades that both the Northwest passage (water ship rout across north Canada) & Northeast passage (water route across north of Scandinavia & Siberia) have been clear at the same time.

We are having snow in Tamworth this year at Christmas for the first time in 20 years, so says the weatherman.

Cheers,

Jim

And once again, Ed ignores the key problem we have: man-made global warming is the myth perpetuated.

Of course we go through warming & cooling cycles.

But the CNN guy nailed the Church of the Global Climate on some fatal errors.

And they're still fatal errors.

Sorry, the first sentence (in the OP cited page) was inaccurate. The source was no good. No reason to spend time further.

1. if the problem is the Sun, we can't do anything about it
2. if the problem is God goofed, we can't do anything about it
3. only if the problem is that humans caused global warming can we do anything about it

The Red Chinese, backed by nuclear weapons ( they could cause a 7-year-long nuclear winter ) are concerned about Global Warming , the US should be concerned.

The Russians, backed by nuclear weapons ( they could cause a 7-year-long nuclear winter ) are concerned about Global Warming , the US should be concerned.

OBTW, Check Isaiah 24 for an interesting 2500 year ago description of a nuclear winter. Did someone mention the Lord is in control and has a plan? The Bible is a lot better place to find out about God's master plan than national Conspiracy Theories.

This is 2008, the WORLD'S coldest year in the 21st century (2001-2100)! One might expect a little snow. Ha, my ice on the road melted before the temp dipped back below freezing.

This is 2008, the WORLD's coldest year in the Third Millennium (2001-3000).

This is 2008, the year the average temperature of the world was the third HIGHEST in the set {1880 through 1995, 2008}

Of course, man-made global warming ignores that we don't have data for centuries...and we base our theory on a statistically insignificant snapshot in time.

Of course, if we mention cold temperatures on the globe now, the global warmingbots use that against us. yet, it doesn't apply to them when "the sky is falling" tactic is employed.
