Dr. Marc Siegel on Coronavirus: I’ve Never Seen an Emerging Contagion Handled Better

The Trump administration is handling the coronavirus outbreak better than previous administrations addressed earlier emerging contagions, said Dr. Marc Siegel, professor of medicine at New York University

“I’ve been handling these emerging contagions for about 20 years now, and I have to tell you, I’ve never seen one handled better,” said Siegel of President Donald Trump’s approach to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) erred in its messaging with a “doom and gloom comment” framing the spread of coronavirus in the U.S. as inevitable without quantifying caveats, Siegel stated.

There was case a few miles away from here a couple of days ago. A school about 12 miles away closed as one scholar had a relative who has the virus.

One of my grandaughters is teaching English in Rennes, France, and the Rennes university Buisiness School is closed as two students have contracted the virus.

My daughter and her husband and their younget daughter took the train to Paris today for a short break. I hope they don't catch it there.

My grandaughter who is nearly 11, said on a visit to the Sacré-Cœur, looking up into the dome, said "They should have built another floor."

I'd be at least as concerned about contracting something en route as after arrival.

I like the extra floor comment.

I heard on France 24, I think it was, that the USA has had 100 deaths from the virus. I didn't think you had that many infections.
