At least Beck owns up to the damage he did in the past. I hope he can help bring the country together in the future. Would that other talking heads help instead of destroy.

It's good to see someone finally acknowledge that Beck, Ingraham, Limbaugh, Hannity, Boortz , O'reilly and the conservative crew do the same thins to enrage a demographic that the "liberal race baiters" are accused of doing and are thus just as complicit in driving a wedge between folks in the country.
I myself never cared for Beck. He often gave lectures on Mormonism, which I found silly--especially the idea that the Indians had some sort of advanced, peaceful civilization. Romney generally stayed away from Mormon doctrine except to show his charitable side and his provision for the future. Romney is polite and gentlemanly and more interested publically in business. Beck occupies the middle ground--not as crude and mean as Harry Reid but a bit pompous to me. For all his faults, I think that Romney would have been a better president than Obama could ever be. The sad case to me is Romney's wife who left the Episcopal Church for Mormonism.
I had Beck on Sirius Radio at the time and he was on tv. I thought that he was always grinding the ax for Mormonism. I don't think that he tore anything apart except his own career.

And so Crabby what has your false god Obama done to unite the country? So far the only thing he has done is put more people into poverty and raised the insurance premiums for thousands of people across the U.S. My health insurance went up over $250.00 per month and my deductible went from $5,000.00 to $12,000.00. Just one medical emergency and I will be getting food stamps too. Thanks a lot Zaac and Crabby for voting for the uniting man we currently have in the White House.

Generally, I agree with Beck as long as he sticks to politics. In his interview, he seems to express an overly inflated view of his effect on the polarization of Americans. We've been polarized since Carter, if not before, and it only gets worse every day because of this kind of tripe rhetoric that every liberal or conservative gloms onto when some "spokesman" for one side or the other provides fodder for the war cannons.
The fact of the matter is, polarization occurs because of policy, not because of rhetoric. Beck didn't make policy then, and he doesn't make policy now. While the Republicans don't seem to have a direction, the party philosophy is much more closely aligned with what government should be in this country as envisioned by the founders. Admittedly, even the GOP has strayed from that ideal. However, the Democrats have done far more than stray. They have abandoned democracy and free enterprise for the sake of establishing a socialist government. They are succeeding in that effort, and it isn't because Glen Beck "tore the country apart" five years ago. It is because these idiots in power in the White House and the Senate want socialism at any cost, and we have gotten so used to rhetoric as a political form that we don't recognize real danger when it is right under our noses. We are asleep at the switch.
Any threat to the socialist agenda -- such as a groundswell of support for a conservative candidate -- results in a coordinated effort to discredit, undermine and demonize that candidate. Just look at what has happened to Chris Christie the last two weeks. We are in danger of losing this country, not to polarization fed by cable news networks or talk radio hosts. We are in danger of losing this country because of the demon agenda of the socialists disguised in what they want you to believe is traditional American liberalism.
It isn't. It's poison. And the first two posters on this thread would have us drink it.

I listen to the show every day, plus the Pat and Stu Show (formerly, The Big Fat Stupid Show, formerly formerly The Fourth Hour, formerly formerly formerly The After the Show Show) that follows.
As long as they're talking about politics or social issues or pop culture, I agree with them so much that it's like looking in a mirror.
I don't care what your politics are, you've got to admit that Moron Trivia is funny. Catchphrases from the show like "The Earth has a temperature...", "Get off my phone!", etc, are popular in our house.
"Russian Dashcam Videos" and "As Seen on TV Friday" didn't go over well, because they're visual and don't translate well to radio but, otherwise, we love the show.
But when Glenn and Pat start pushing Mormonism, I can't push the fast forward button fast enough.
Glenn loves to tell how the brothers, Jesus and Lucifer, stood before "Heavenly Father" and gave competing plans to save mankind. When "Heavenly Father" chose Jesus' plan, Lucifer got mad, rebelled, and became Satan.
Evidently, this is a popular Mormon belief.
