And they asked me if my kids looked hispanic. What's up with that?

Who knows - maybe a census worker talked to one of your neighbors who said that your kids look Hispanic.

The van should be along anytime now to deport them to Mexico.

After they are done at Thinkingstuffs house that is.

Well, are they? The Imperial Federal Socialistic Government of United States wants to know and who are you, Comrade, to deny Big Brother that information?

I answered all their questions, which at first seemed to just want to verify that what I submitted in writing was true, except these.

I have no problem with a follow-up phone call as a form of quality control. But when he asked if my kids looked hispanic I told him it was none of his dang business.

Did you fill out the mail in form or did an enumerator come to your door for the info. If its the second the enumerator might have made a note that your children "didn't look" white or whatever race you gave. My crew leader would call that overthinking the process and wouldn't allowed us to turn in a form so noted, but who know what others might have done.

Do you live in Arizona? If so, the Arizona Gestapo Police Force may be calling on you to check your papers..

One out of every ten people gets called back to verify the enumerator's work as quality control. The thing about being asked if your kids look Hispanic is just weird.

It might not have been the census at all. It might have been a prank call. Many years ago, around Thanksgiving, I called my in-laws and told them I was calling from a government sounding organization that I made up. I asked my father-in-law a question about his Thanksgiving dinner. After a few seconds of silence he hung up on me! :D
