Just what is CYCOM?

CyCom is a new Dept of Defense sub-unified command subordinate to the US Stragegic Command

Just make work, or truly needed by the US military?

It's been needed since the early 90's...but the people who didn't have the foresight to see just how pervasive and "used" computers and networks were going to be, wouldn't listen. Now we're trying to play catch-up.

The concern is, is what penalties are invoked if the intelligence they intecept is leaked, abused, or misrepresented?

We have seen numerous Wikileaks... And, not one prosecution... In fact I think the current regime is sleeping rather soundly in that they didn;t have to do anything to do further damage to the US Military and Defense posture.

It's not the surveillance that bothers me... It's the abuse of power and arrogance we have seen so prevelent from inside the Beltway.
