Almost seventy years and four generations later...

I wonder how much that will save Uncle Sam in road repair bills in Germany. During maneuvers when I was stationed in Germany, any repairs from damage to roads and buildings caused by tanks had to be paid for by "your tax dollars". A lot of roads were torn up during Wintershield II in 1961.That was one cold exercise ... deep snow ... very cold temperatures ... frozen ground. Ah the memories.

The cost of repairing roads is nothing compared to an invasion of the (former) Soviet military.

The 8th Infantry Division was a integral part of NATO and USAEUR during the Cold War from 14 December 1957, until it was inactivated on 17 January 1992.
