If an ID can't be required to register a vote, how can it be required to:
obtain medical care?
get a driver's license?
buy beer and cigarettes?
travel?
cash a check?
apply for welfare?
etc. & etc. ?

Those activities are not constitutional rights. And it is an infringement to register guns.
And it is NOT a constitutional right to vote unless you are at least 18 years old. And how do you prove you are at least 18 ---- hmmm, say, how about picture ID!.
Also there are other restrictions to voting - must register, up to 30 days in advance.
Doesn't need to be a picture ID. Student ID or SSN# works in most states.
Not in every state. Here in Minnesota you can register on election day, a big reason we lead the nation in voter participation rates.
Lets cut to the chase - why are you so opposed to showing proof of who you are? voting is a sacred RIGHT and should be taken very seriously - ie illegal voters - not even 1 - should be tolerated.
Voter fraud is practically non-existent, why complicate a basic right?
Well, at least I'm glad, you don't think that citizens need to show ID to buy a firearm. It's just another example of intrusion of government into our privacy. Why should I be required to show an ID to exercise my constitutional right??

Because voting is a sacred right and I do not want to see the importance diminished. Why are you so seemingly in favor of the state compelling you to prove your identity?
Don't worry. Once Marxism is established, only party members will be allowed to vote, and you bet ID will be required. If an ID can't be required to register a vote, how can it be required to:
obtain medical care?
get a driver's license?
buy beer and cigarettes?
travel?
cash a check?
apply for welfare?

Here is just one example - in just one city
if you need more - just goggle voter fraud.
Hmm, I wonder why we don't here more of it?
The arguments against vote ID laws make zero sense to me. I've heard them and they never make any sense.
They make no sense to anyone who uses common sense.
