This is good news. I've always supported our being in Afghanistan. I hope we see more stories like this in the future.

This is the kind of news which is a joy to hear.

It reminds me:

I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
.....
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall falll at thy side, and ten thousand, at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Psalm 91: 2, 5-7. (Actually the whole Psalm)

:praying: a nephew in the Marines and another in the Army. Remembering all our forces ..... may God bless and preserve their efforts and their lives!

I support our troops no matter where or why they serve.

Because they serve.

I don't think he meant the troops, he meant government decision's.

Troops go where ordered to go but the government has a responsibility to deploy them responsibly.

Perhaps. But it is the liberal way to withhold their suppoort of our armed forces if they don't agree with the mission.

No excuses necessary. That's just the way it is.

I don't give my government carte blanc in every military involvement they involve the American people in. If the mission is wrong, then the mission does not deserve support. It has nothing to do with supporting the troops.

It would seem like if you supported the troops as much as you say you do, you would be concerned that they only be used when absolutely necessary. To use the troops to fight in unnecessary wars, such as in Iraq, should be looked upon negatively by people who actually care about the troops.

The topic is the success and support of our troops, not the government.

Liberals just don't get it. :BangHead:

And apparently never will.

Iraq was completely necessary

No, I don't think it was. The effort spent here should have been concentrated in Afghanistan. If it had been, we would probably be finished there with a lot less causalities.

Afghanistan has never been successfully invaded.

So, do you support the actions of our troops in Afghanistan?

Can't speak for billwald but I sure do. That's where the perpetrators of 9/11 are hiding and where we should have committed our full measure until we dug him out of the last cave or made that entire area into a parking lot. I think we'd have him by now and could be out of there. Now that we know the game Pakistan is playing, I am in favor of the covert missions we are doing over the boarder.

Not sure why Obama was criticized for calling for missions into Pakistan years ago but I guess he was just a visionary ahead of his time. Glad to see Bush taking his advice, he is doing missions into Pakistan and Iraq now has a time line...

as usual, Billwald does a "post and run."

I tire of his incindiery statements that he refuses to debate.

I know you don't. But 30 countries did as well as most of congress.

Still waiting for billwald to return and defend, or explain, his statement.

Of course, my breath isn't held...

I back them wherever they are and whatever their mission.

The time to ask questions, whine and complain is before the battle begins.

Once the fighting starts , it's time to shut up and back them 100% in completing their mission, whether you agree with the mission or not.
