And it certainly won't happen any quicker if they lapse back and forth between the two languages. What Mrs. Lacey did was practical common sense. Immerse them in English, and they'll learn it a lot quicker. Perhaps she should have explained that is what she was doing, but there's nothing "prejudiced" about it.
