TEHRAN, IRAN (Worthy News)-- A detained pastor of a major network of Christian house churches in Iran will be executed by hanging for "apostasy", or abandoning Islam, according to translated court documents seen by Worthy News Wednesday, November 24.

The 11th Chamber of The Assize Court of the province of Gilan said Iranian pastor Yousef Nadarkhani had proved his "apostasy" by "organizing evangelistic meetings and inviting others to Christianity, establishing a house church, baptizing people, expressing his faith to others and, denying Islamic values."

Nadarkhani is "an apostate [and] will be executed by being hung...Somehow his soul is taken from him," the court wrote.

Will the news channels headline this as they did when the pastor burned the koran?

And to think people say this can't happen again. That is sad news, yet it is good news. He is with Christ in God. What a path God chose for him! What a testimony!

A solemn moment for this man of God.

The article is dated from 8 months ago and this is the first I've read/heard about it. Funny how biased the media is.

I'm on a "Christian" news email and almost every morning there are Christians suffering in courts, jails and elsewhere under great persecution - home leveled, beatings, killings etc.

The media is silent.

Christians are being killed by Hindus in India where killing a cow is an horrific act but killing a Christian - that's ok.

An Indian national came to our church last year and showed graphic video evidence that it is still happening yet it does not usually make the global news.

The essence of the problem is that missionaries are telling the "untouchables" (Dalit class - actually not a class but a designation) that God offers eternal life and sonship to all men which infuriates the upper classes.

So sad. I'll be in prayer for all those affected. You know, if this were Christians killing Muslims, I'll bet the media would be wetting their pants. . .
