After ramming through arguably the country's toughest gun control law after the Sandy Hook massacre, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's (D) approval rating dropped 15 percentage points.
A Quinnipiac poll last month found 74% of New Yorkers approved of Cuomo while only 13% disapproved. On Wednesday, the same poll found 59% New Yorkers now approve of his performance while 28% do not. The December poll was conducted two days before the Sandy Hook massacre.
On Tuesday, "the New York-affiliate of the National Rifle Association filed a notice of claim to sue to stop enforcement of the law, arguing it unconstitutionally deprives New Yorkers of their rights."
