Rasmussen: Only 31% of Americans Work 40-Hour Week

Only 31 percent of employed Americans work a 40-hour week, a new Rasmussen national telephone survey suggests.

The survey, conducted this past week, found that 40 percent of Americans now work more than 40 hours per week, including nine percent who work more than 50 hours per week.

I fall in the 31% - normally do not work more than 29 hours a week.

Of the 40% who work over 40 hours, I wonder how many of them are on salary as opposed to hourly wage.

and my "second job" as associate pastor - my monthly check does not even cover my car expenses -(for church business) - not complaing - just giving a statment of fact.

However, the Lord has provided.
Hmmm - I wonder if a pastor in NM is looking for an associate...

Count me in. 40 is over by Thursday. 12 hours in a work day.
At least in my field. Then there is 15+ hours of ministry, per week.

Success as we define it today is rarely achieved by working 40 OPW. Its probably nearer 80 then 40. I wonder what Bill Gates schedule was. I worked for a large retailer for 35 years in management and while most of my fellow workers worked an 8 to 5 As a rule I was there by 6 AM This lightened my work load as I could accomplish much more with a minimum of interruptions. By worldly standards I would not be termed successful but I found it more fulfilling. I guess it boils down to what you contribute is in direct proportion to what you receive.
