Well, in the world of professional sports, it isn't that love covers a multitude of sins, but being a consistant winner covers anything.
I hope he is a Christian. I hope that Psalm 91 is meaningful to him - meaningful enough change his lifestyle. He's sharing the scripture via his jersy with his fans and the cameras, but is he sharing the Word with his 7 children and his 5 baby mamas? (He just recently copped to the 7th child and 5th mother. Child support is still in the works.)
He says that the suffering families of the two men murdered - the murders of which charges against him were dropped in exchange for his pointing the finger at his two body guards - he says these families will never know the truth.
Why not? Why can't he just spit the truth out?
I really don't care for custom of people - athletes or otherwise - who brandish scripture passages on their clothing, but whose lives don't bear out it out.
This 7th child that he just admitted to fathering is 11 years old, so maybe this is in his past. Maybe that night when he and his two body guards fled the scene and left two dead men - maybe he just sat in the car and the two body guards did all the stabbing and killing. I don't know. No one knows.
I'd much rather see a man like this NOT write scripture on his clothes, but talk to people - fans, young people, and the media about a life change in himself.
I truly hope he shows everyone that's the case. If it's true and he's a changed man, then he has a lot of clout and could really be a voice to a LOT of people in his life for Christ.
