You're actually going to drag up a six-year-old faux scandal which turned out to be a hatchet job and claim that disqualifies Sen. Vitter from lecturing the political elite about legislating themselves out the nightmare of the ACA? And then attempt to paint the entire GOP with a patronizing remark about the "morals" of the party, when you should know the reality was it was all lies about Vitter? Really??? You're better than this, S/N. You ought to be applauding the effort to force these yahoos to take their own medicine -- literally.Ah yes, Senator Vitter, the spokesman for fairness and morality. Right or wrong, Senator Vitter has no right to lecture anyone. What a joke, Senator "lets go skip to my lou down to the red light district at tax payer expense." Is this the standard of Republican morality.
I thought you were a Republican. it's the other guys who are digging their own grave. Immediate public comment and reaction seldom turns out to be the long-term opinion. The party I belong to is on the edge of extinction.

Well, I appreciate you saying I am better than that. I appreciate anyone's remarks, even a politician, to make things equal and fair. I guess I have no tolerance for leaders, examples of our nation, who have been in scandals like that (and there are just as many Democrats) to lecture others on fairness or morality. I suppose the one that irked me the most was Senator Craig, the toe tapping Senator in the bathroom stalls. It is the same pattern. A few days later, there is the politician before the American public, with his wife standing by his side, saying how sorry he was (that he got caught), that it was a mistake, and it will never happen again.
If I pulled something like that and got caught, there would be no microphones to plead my case, my retirement would be half gone, the divorce papers would be signed and sealed, and I might have a body part missing.
If I am not mistaken, you and I both are under the FEHB. These policies are excellent, even without the perks Congressmen get. I pay about $400 a month for my part. I feel very blessed by this. Congress does not have to pay the part we do. In addition, since we have our own coverage, I do not believe we are required to do anything about the ACA.
I have my VA benefits. The FEHB doesn't apply to veterans that I'm aware of. That would be "double-dipping."If I am not mistaken, you and I both are under the FEHB.
