The GOP's New Attack on Obamacare May Be the Most Destructive Yet

More plans to hurt the working Americans.

On Thursday, House Republicans will vote on an anti-Obamacare bill that could toss up to 1.5 million Americans off their employer-sponsored health plans. To make the case that this is a good idea, top GOPers are misrepresenting what the legislation would do. They claim the measure would help prevent companies from reducing worker hours in order to cut employees' health insurance benefits. Yet the legislation would likely encourage businesses to decrease hours so the firms could avoid providing health insurance to workers. "While political leaders often stretch the truth to make their case, they usually don't claim the opposite of the truth," Robert Greenstein, the president of the left-leaning Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP), noted Wednesday. "That, however, is essentially what Republican congressional leaders are doing."

Obama already hurt Working Americans when he decided that 30 not 40 was full time. The only jobs I could find when I moved were all part time capped at 29 hours and the business had not problem admitting that they only hired part time workers because of Obamacare. Putting full time work back at 40 like it was previously will actually help worker who are on a tight budget. And let me say those ten hours a week can make a big difference when you're on a tight budget.

Actually the unions are putting the pressure on the Democrats to go back to the forty hour work week. However, if the Democrats want to turn their backs on the unions over the 40-hour work week, I am just GOP enough to say that if the unions want it let the Democrats give it to them. I have to wonder why the GOP should save the unions and then have to listen to Democrats say that the GOP is hurting Obamacare. The unions wanted this Obamacare plan and they like the plan and they can keep it.

Here in Indy, we have some who manufacture artificial limbs, etc. They are trying to get the tax repealed on those devices because artificial limbs are a labor of love and are not profitable. Indianapolis is a medical town because Eli Lilly discovered how to manufacture insulin and saved so many lives.
