    TheWinDork,
When you throw around words like "apostate" you'd better be able to back it up with some facts. Others may not agree that those particular facts rise to the level of apostacy, but you would at least lend yourself a little credibility.

I know some who don't like the SOTL now because of some of the preachers whose sermons they publish.....but I don't think that even they call it an apostate publication.

No Windork, you just rambled off some texts too numerous to consider.

Shiloh brings out a good point, the books you quoted, were they endorsed by a local Baptist church or were they simply works of an individual?

Lastly, how can you call an apostate "friend"? [IMG]

Here are some scriptures for you to consider... and READ THEM, instead of critizing me, the messenger:

from my statement of faith at the Church I Pastor...:

As I said before... READ THESE SCRIPTURES AND TELL ME I AM WRONG.

    OK, simple Question Windork:
Where was Paul's membership? What local church did Paul belong..

You may say Antioch... I would agree.

But when he wrote to the Corinthians he wrote:
(1Co 12:13) For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Now was the "one body" that Paul was referring to here, the local church at Corinth?. according to Local Church Only (LoCO) Christians, they say it is.

But we know that Paul belonged to Antioch.
So why did he include himself in the "WE" in the verse above?

The answer is simple there is a universal body, that we are all baptized into, the church.

Humph, How is it, that you Apostates will take a scripture totally out of it's original context and twist it for your preverted doctrines? You deserve the same fate as annaias and saphira. That chapter is referring to the Gifts of the Spirit, true that is talking about the body of Christ, but it does not dimish the fact that Christ came to establish the LOCAL Church! Not an invisiable CHURCH or BODY, BUT A LOCAL CHURCH!

    well, the Bible does say...:

Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set. (Proverbs 22:28 KJV)

However, I am smart enough to know that this scripture was the wisdom of Soloman to the Children of Isreal and that the "landmark" was thier laws in the Old Testement. and it's really not for today... I'm not the type to take Old Testament Scriptures and use them for New Testement Doctrine. I'm a bit smarter than that. :D

Whew! I had to edit this one 3 times before I caught the typo's... If I could type as well as I talk, I'd be doin' somein' man! [IMG]

Which local church did Christ establish? I would like the name and location cause that is the only church we should be a part of. So please give me that information as I don't want to be apostate.

Um...don't you owe someone an apology? That's way out of line.

Please remember, you asked for an evaluation of the Statement.

In general, it reflects what are generally termed "Landmarker" positions in Soteriology and Ecclesiology. I did note it is Pre-Trib/Pre-Mil in its Eschatology. Further, the Statement has some clauses dealing with the charasmatic, pentecostal, and word of faith movements. No doubt, these clauses reflect issues of local interest. I also noted your church is specific in its repudiation of Ruckmanism and "Lordship Salvation."

While I would not have written up a Statement like this, it is well within the parameters of current Baptist thought. FYI, Landmark(er) is not a cuss word. No matter how some folks pronounce it. But in the main, it is an accurate description of your Church's position. On the other hand, I describe my Church as Historic Northern (Regular) Baptist. Different in this case does not mean better or worse, just different.

Windork, your position on the church is fine, but where even in your statement is the possibility of a ministry outside of the local church disallowed?

I've requested this topic be closed. and since the admin's have refused to do so. I will refrain from posting on this board again. it seems that the admins are very selective about the enforcement of the rules here, they'll threaten me in PM, however, they will not close a topic, when I ask them to. so, I'm outta here.

    Goodbye all!

Windork, you have already used that threat and you did not follow through on it.

Why should we believe you now?

WinDork there's nothing selective in my enforcement of the rules. You made a very serious charge. Posters challenged you to prove that charge in honest debate. I allowed the debate to continue in hopes you would answer the questions put to you. You choose instead to call one poster a "clueless fool." You choose to call for the Divine death of another after the example of Ananias and Sapphira.

My PM to you was a consequence of the Mod Alerts I have received concerning the attitude you have displayed on this thread. I choose at that moment to privately deal with the matter. However, as the level of heat on this thread is becoming unbearable for all parties and no light is being shed, I am closing this thread.

Why is there so much disagreements within this Fundamental Baptist circle. I'm aware that there are disagreements when it comes to other churches (ex: Catholic church), because of doctrine. But, it begans to frustrate me when the disagreements arise even amongst the circle's own resources (Sword of the Lord, Baptist Colleges, etc...)

I will be moving soon and am thinking about joing an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church because from I've learned, Jesus was a Baptist and the church comes out of the Ana Baptists.

Well, us IFB's are driven by the need to always be right on everything and some of us take pride in showing just how 'separate' we can be. So we all have to carve out our own little slice of IFBdom and from then on it is 'Katie bar the door!'

I think I have grown up a little bit and come to the realization that a lot of this 'separation' stuff is just as of the flesh as any other carnal sin you can name.

    Because

The transfer to the new format wiped out alot of the old lock downs and feature threads. In other words, it was the software not the mods.
