Tirupur: India's suicide capital

THE KNITWEAR capital of India is getting suicidal by the day. More than 400 people in the booming town of Tirupur and other parts of the district in Tamil Nadu have taken their lives in the first eight months of 2010. Around 215 suicides were reported between June and August.

These figures are old but the sadness lingers on. Hinduism is an evil religion.

The Jesus Film.org, what is left of Bill Bright's organization in Orlando, began an outreach in Tirupur in hopes of lowering the rate of 20 attempted suicides per day. They have shown their films to tens of thousands of people in Tirupur. There has been a renewal of hope.
