Why not? The Obama administration is the perfect example and since they are the immediate predecessor of Mr. Trumps they are fair game to point out the double standard that exists when people criticize our current President. Mr. Trump has his faults, Obama's were far worse.

We're supposed to be better than Democrats. Pointing out Obama had faults is not a defense. It's a deflection. Not too far from the childhood taunt, "I know you are but what what am I?"

Trump was elected to fix a lot of Obama's screw-ups. (He's making strides in rolling back regulations, which is great.) We've got to hold his feet to the fire so we get what we were promised. If, after Trump's term is over we have no tax reform, no Wall built, no repeal/replacement of ObamaCare are you going to be satisfied by saying, "Well, Obama didn't get us out of Afghanistan. He didn't close to Guantanamo. He didn't create a cap and trade system for carbon emissions"?

I think asking what kind of "moral infrastructure" was in place during team zero's reign is a fair challenge, beins' that's the claim made on the OP.

And the County Club GOP blocking his agenda is a good conversation to have sometime.

Well let's have that conversation. Seems to me that Trump isn't leading on anything. Getting on Twitter and attacking McConnell and Ryan every couple of weeks is not leadership. Trump needs to get on national TV and make a pitch for his agenda. He's supposed to be this accomplished salesman and negotiator, sorry, I'm not seeing it.

Side issue--there was no need to go on TV last week and give a speech about Afghanistan that contained virtually no details and was hardly a change from the status quo. He should be using TV addresses to advance legislation. Perfect opportunity coming up next week when Congress comes back from recess. Kids are back in school, parents get back into a "normal" routine. Trump should go on TV and explain to the American people what he expects Congress to do over the next several months and then ask the citizens to call or email their representatives and urge them to do what the President wants done. Reagan was a master at this sort of thing.

First, Trump is absolutely being blocked. The American people voted for an agenda that is being hampered by career politicians.

Second, the Afghanistan speech was horribly disappointing. My guess is he went on TV to try and explain why he was going back on what he's been tweeting.

They may be blocking him on certain agenda issues, but on others like tax cuts and infrastructure I don't see it. Trump needs to get in front of this and LEAD. Again, disparaging tweets of 140 characters or less twice a month is not leadership. It's laziness.

Second, the Afghanistan speech was horribly disappointing. My guess is he went on TV to try and explain why he was going back on what he's been tweeting.

Yes, well that would explain his one-liner about the decision making process looking different from behind the desk in the Oval Office than it does outside of government. But he spent 25 minutes unenthusiastically reading a script that didn't tell us anything or advance a new agenda. Boiled down it amounted to: "We're going to put an unspecified number of fresh troops into Afghanistan and we're not putting a time limit on success."
