Are you suggesting that the number of terrorist sucide bombings is not down[/d] since the U.S. military surge? Where's the data to support that idea?

Now that the surge has suppressed the insurgency, perhaps they can get back to rebuilding the country's military, which was supposedly a top priority.

Baptist in Richmong said:As for the Shiite militia, you have no idea whether or not they are out of business. Nobody really knows. Perhaps you didn't know this, but Southern/Eastern Iraq is predominantly Shiite. They could be anywhere, and might be waiting for the right opportunity.

These people straight up lied to us all. You (30%) can deny it all the live long day but you can't get around it the evidence is still piling up. They lied to us and manipulated us. Be Americans for crying out loud stand up for your country instead of these parasites that have been feeding off us all for the last seven years.

Your refusal to acknowledge progress of any kind in Iraq tells us that you are willing it to be a "quagmire" and are disappointed that it's not turning out that way.
There is an end in sight for those not as willfully blind as you.
1.an area of miry or boggy ground whose surface yields under the tread; a bog.
2.a situation from which extrication is very difficult: a quagmire of financial indebtedness.
3.anything soft or flabby.

And hence my comment above that we forced A-Q to fight in his own back yard. About 10% of A-Q in Iraq were foreigners, including the leadership, with local misfits enlisted to do the dirty work. They have thrown alot of resources into this fight and had much of it chewed up.
Yes I know that southern Iraq is predominantly Shia. Shia militias controlled the port city Basra, among others, and they no longer hold it due to the central government's offensive there. If they regroup they will not have popular support at this time.
