This video is very good. It is Sheryl Attkisson who was a reporter for CBS and quit because of the bias. In this video in the second half she explains the different influences on the media in a way that is not so conspiratorial but very telling.

Great article. It's a shame that our government, and others, are so pervasive in their shenanigans that journalists think to learn encryption in order to exercise free speech and freedom of the press.

One thing I'd suggest is to rethink the article's claim that the TOR browser is safe for such an enterprise. Journalism or just the average user.
I use to use TOR. Not anymore.
