Why are kids bullied?

Sadly, this progresses into the workplace as adults! As a nurse, we had what was called horizontal and vertical bullying, and nurses eat their young!
I hope this changes, it will never be eliminated completely, but I have never understood why there was such a determined effort to make the workplace as stressful as possible!
