Willow Creek Church And Soulforce

I thought this was an interesting little story. However I will point out that it is dangerously one-sided since Willow Creek refused to talk with "One News Now". What is Willow Creek trying to hide? If they preached the truth to the Soulforce members why would they be afraid to say so publically? It worries me when churches start holding closed door meetings with heretical groups such as Soulforce.

Here is a blog entry from a person from Soulforce that claims to have been in the meeting with Hybels. I've quoted the section that discusses her understanding of Willowcreek's theology on homosexuality.

For our part, we were surprised and pleased that Willow Creek’s own 30-year study of homosexuality has led them to conclude that: (1) Sexual orientation is unchangeable. and (2) Sexual orientation should not keep someone from being received into their church. They acknowledged that 6 of the 7 verses used to condemn homosexuality are irrelevant; really referring to other things. Unfortunately, they still felt that one Genesis text supported their position that gay and lesbian members must commit to celibacy to become members.
