FEC Dems lay groundwork to ban Fox, WSJ political coverage

In their biggest threat yet to conservative media, Democrats on the Federal Election Commission are laying the groundwork to bar companies with even the tiniest foreign ownership from American politics, a move that could ban Fox, the Wall Street Journal and even the New York Times from covering political races or giving endorsements.

Democrats on the commission have been on a three-year campaign to limit the voice of conservative media, stopped by Republican commissioners who have warned that the First Amendment is under attack in the FEC.

In a last-minute submission Wednesday, a top Democrat on the evenly split FEC proposed that the Thursday meeting of the commission begin the process to prohibit companies with foreign ownership as small as 5 percent "from funding expenditures, independent expenditures, or electioneering communications."

How hypocritical given their Presidential candidates connections to Muslim countries and financial support. Having said that I do not believe other countries should own land or businesses in America. Get rid of them.

This would need to go through the house and the senate.

If not immediately or it passes then it would be challenged up to the SCOTUS (which could turn out to make the prediction true - depending on the judges).

I put it down to being just another democrat attack on the 1st Amendment. We'll have even more of them in a Hillary president. The 1st Amendment is in danger of being gutted.

Agreed, with the second also under intense scrutiny by our wannabe queen.

She would of course want to protect the fifth amendment but only for certain individuals who could pass her Orwellian doublespeak test.

When you're arguments aren't winning the debate silence your opponent. Stalin did much the same by labeling his opponents "insane" and sending them off to the asylum. If they were lucky.

What are the headlines today? Donald Trump is insane!

Why would the Dems do this. Aren't all the news agencies controlled by the same people?

Uh, no. Fox News and the WSJ are part of the "Vast right Wing Conspiracy".

Yeah, they're almost as big a threat to Hillary's campaign as Pepe the frog. Which as I understand it has been added to the ADL's list of "hate symbols".
