Should Obama be elected, Canada may get special benefits. (smile) He has a sister married to a Canadian.
    Quote:
Of course, most importantly, I've got a sister, who's half-Indonesian, who's married to a Chinese Canadian, so I don't know what that makes my niece (her name is Suhaila)," he said, and added: "So, this is part of my family, this is part of my DNA. This is part of my genetic make-up."

    Cheers, and peace,

    Jim

I don't know if that would directly affect his policies with Canada, but Obama seems to place more emphasis on strong relationships with US allies than Bush has.

With Harper being one of the more pro-US prime ministers in a long time, we may see US-Canadian relations improve to stronger levels than it has been in a long time.

We do not need to be making US policy decisions based on how other country views them. The rest of the worlds views are not the standard. Maybe Canada should have shifted its policies based on how the US sees them.

Of course. Nobody has suggested that.

If you truly understand what Obama is talking about then that is what you would have suggested by your statement.

"Seems" was a good choice of words.

I don't know how anyone thinks that they ever know what Obama is talking about.

    He talks in vague platitudes.

Like, "We don't need bigger government. We don't need smaller government. What we need is good government."

Sounds nice, doesn't it? But what excactly is his idea of "good govenment"?

If he were asked, I doubt that he would answer with anything more defined or direct.
