it's probably just me, but I don't see too many...can anyone list their favorite ones--or better yet, list one Christian- concept that you'd want to see as a website of its own. I'd like to make some but I don't have many ideas right now...

Um, I know now that this is hard to explain without an example.... unfourtanately the most popular concept based website is porn...where a different type of sex is portrayed over and over again on a single website-that would be the most simple generic based web...so why can'y there be more worship sites? Isn't worship a concept? What I thought of was really generic...Animals singing hymns in different enviornments...for example you could have a vixen singing to her kits 'What A Friend We Have In Jesus' inside her den animation, or a Wolf on Christ's birth in Bethelem to the manger singing 'O Night Divine'...yeah. Can anyone think of something better?

I know absolutly nothing about building a web-site, but why not one (animated) with past preachers preaching some of their sermons? I know it would have to be "voiceover" on most, but I would enjoy something like that. Don;t know how hard it would be to do, but it would be worthwhile. Done right I believe even non-christians would watch, & could be a great evangilism tool! I know this is a Baptist Site, but on what I'm speaking on all denominations could be included...mainly sermons on the necessity of Christ, knowing Him as your personal saviour.

sure, could you list out the preachers (granted...I always get the urge to anthropormorphize things)...?

Off the top of my head..Spurgeon, Dwight Moody,
Johnathan Edwards, Lee Robertson, I know there are many out there that printed sermons can be found for, back thru the 1600's at least. It would take some research to make sure the sermons posted were absolutly Bilblical. But in those times folks were'nt so hung up on denomination as just getting the message of salvation out!

    hmmm,
It would also be hard to make that interesting, just having people talking on the pulpit in every movie. I might put some interpetation to the sermon, like going through someone's life scenario while the sermon is being preached, sorta like a music video....I dunno, it has potential at least...

Even still, most of the body is hidden behind a pulpit and for the people you mentioned, I can't see them doing anything as far as gesture and expression that this culture is already overrun with...either way I would rather start with something simpler....

Uncharted, don't "gussy up" the Word. I think what you're attempting to advocate is, it's more interesting if they hear the Word, and be entertained at the same time. But when you really think about it, what you're talking about is focusing someone's attention on, using your example, the wolf singing a song, and hoping that the viewer retains what the wolf was singing about.

I don't think it's a bad idea; but concept-driven doesn't necessarily preclude straight-forward preaching. If the individual knows they're visiting a site that's based on the concept of listening sermons by historical preachers, then they know what they're going to get. Don't distract them from that with bells and whistles.

Just my two cents, which won't even buy bubblegum these days.

Ok how about something with your animal theme. I've made the comment on this board before about animals having more common sense, & being easier to get along with than a lot of people I know...folks here on the BB excluded of course!!
Why not critters, either singing as you proposed, or giving life lessons out of the Bible. Mabey along the line of the animal seeing humans doing something that they, even as animale know isn't right,& go from there. You could have a time with a subject such as evolution! From a Whales perspective say, since they are the first animal mentioned by name in Gen.

well on the first one I'm afraid I'll never be able so send a clear message anyway becuase I wasn't talking about a evangelist webpage. I wanted webstites for people to go to that were already christian! Using abstract uses of the web like with homestarrunner.com, something that christians could appreaciate, and maybe there's be a section that could help nonbelievers to appreciate--the other one has already been done before, at least with one animal by Osamu Tezuka (http://en-f.tezuka.co.jp/anime/sakuhin/ts/ts022.html) and by several others....eh, but how could one more hurt....
And how about a mayrter website? something with a guidelines for/contemporary history/fictional and real life stories/places in need of base...that'd be a good idea...right? Otherwise I'm trying to set up a base for all my Christian webcomics on one site, but like I said, I wasn't considering them for nonbelievers first. No one ever seems to place Christians first these days....

Again..not being cynical, but we are already First!! First in our Loving Father's eyes, First in our Redeemer's Eyes' & First in the eyes' of the Holy Ghost!
Aside from that, how many sites are there trying to do nothing but reach the lost compared to those dedicated to believers?? I've seen plenty that try to work to both, but with how much sucess? Just for an example, but on radio, look at Unshackled, by Pacific Garden Missions in Chicago. This is the longest playing live recorded radio program in history. Their goal,..to reach the lost. That I believe is the reason for their lasting so long. They took the command to: go into the highways & byways, & compell them to come, & stuck with it.
I'm truly not trying to shoot you down, better than any advice anyone on this board can give you is to seek the will of the Lord. What will He have you do? Find His will for your talent, then find ones that could help you succeed at what He's given you to do! A brilliant idea is nothing without HIS guidance! This I know from experince!
I'm usually in & out & AM willing to help in whatever way I can! Have a Blessed Evening, Night, & Tomorrow!

Well, one of the points was that I had no idea any of those sites existed which is why I asked for a list of those plus ideas (stares at everyone else) and also why I put it in the games forum so more people would be interested. I also have never heard of Unshackled of Chicago, probably because I'm in the Bay Area, and I doubt anyone knows of that radio ministry or even of the ones we have here...unless they're a podcast or satellite or something...web would be the best approach for that...but it'd require intense spiritual stregnth to take on every criticism of anyone who visits...which I don't have at all

Sorry taking so long to get back, been a real busy last day & a half!! Been working on both our computers trying to work some bugs out, & working on forms & such for our business we're starting up.
That aside, Been awhile since I've run into someone that's never heard unshackled. It's put out by Pacific Garden Mission, in Chicago. It's broadcast worldwide over 100's of different stations.Like I said it's just an example of trying to reach the lost. As far as sites that already exist, just do a little reasearch with google or proably any search engine for christian-based websites & see for yourself if I'm right about the ones just, or primarily aimed at christians vs. those solely trying to reach the lost.
As far as your last statement, unless you are a spiritual cripple,(which you don't sound like to me)then you have strength, if only a little. It's just like the muscles in your body, the harder you work them, the stronger you get physically. The more you work your FAITH, the stronger you get spiritually!! Criticism...ahh, whats that?
Words? Words can sting...but they can't hurt you or our Father!! Remember, He that is in us is stronger than he that is in the world!!
