A certain working class man man, a Christian, as walking down the street when he was set up, beaten and robbed and left him laying on the sidewalk.

A certain man walked by and seeing the man thought, “He looks like a foreigner to me. Probably is an illegal alien." And he passed by going to an awards banquet where he was given an award for his generosity to his favorite political party.

Another man, a pastor, walked by, looked at the man. “Poor fellow, he’s probably a drug user and drunk. He might be dangerous … and I have a deacons meeting to attend.” And he passed on by the man.

Another man walked up, a Moslem. He saw the man and thought, “Ah, such a terrible thing to have happened to him.” And he helped the man up, took him to his home and nursed him until he was healthy and able to return to his normal life.

Who was it that showed love and mercy?

The parable of the Good Samaritan is a great parable, but looses much of its impact as we do not have much feeling one war or another about Samaritans. The were truly hated by just about everyone in Jesus' time on earth.

It was God the Father who showed love, and mercy with the sacrifice of his perfect son. The good works will not save the muslim. Those who reject Christ wind up in eternal torment.

Not sure why you would put this in the Mission/Witnessing/Evangelism thread.
