It is all right to put a small wager on the Super Bowl as long as it is less than:
There is really no set amount. A millionaire could do a thousand dollars without harming himself financially, but someone on welfare or having a difficult time making ends meet shouldn't be wagering at all.
I'll wager the Eagles don't win (tear in my eye).
I'm so demoralized about the Superbowl that I'll probably pass up watching it this year--just not interested anymore.
If the Bills or Vikings ever go back to the Super Bowl, would it really be gambling to place a wager against them? Unless of course, they played against each other Somebody would HAVE to win!
A long time Bills fan,
What's a "Super Bowl"?
I couldn't vote. "Dollars to doughnuts" wasn't one of the options.
BTW, I've got $2 in my work's betting pool for the Panthers. Two bucks is the price of a coke & chips, so all I'm losing is a few calories of fat!!!
Banned from the BaptistBoard seemed appropriate.
And I'm taking names.
Is it all right if I steal just $.01 from work? Is it all right to have just one small kiss from a woman not my spouse?...wait a minute and let me ask my wife.........OUCH!!! [typing very quietly] (apparently the answer is "NOOOOOOOO!!!".
One small bet, one large bet, there's no difference in the eyes of God. Just say NO!
I did $6.00 worth of block pools.
Lost every one of them, too.
It would be wrong to make a wager on the super bowl, or anything else for taht matter.
I recently bet my girlfriend I could run the 1/4 mile faster than she. The wager was whoever loses, picks up the cost of dinner. I won, btw, and the foccacia bread that evening was fantastic!!!
How am I sinning?
It would be hard to find a team that has been as bad as our team for as long as they have been bad. I think it would be nothing short of a miracle if the Cardinals made it to the Superbowl in my lifetime and I am only 45.
That's what I said about the Angels and the World Series. I see a future Disney movie there
And my convictions say don't gamble. But, it is a personal conviction.. Anyone who has extra dollars to spend can send them to help support missions somewhere... better investment I would say.
