Agenda 1 & 4 are contradictory, even you have said "climate happens, and shouldn't be a political issue".

Defenders of Wildlife calls on the new administration to:

1 Promise to end the political manipulation of science

4 Promise to make America a leader in addressing
    global warming and its impacts

I share a similar goal to the climate change folks - as a steward of God's creation I want to see pollution limited so that we have clean air to breathe and clean water to drink. They see it as a means to arrest climate change while I see it as a means to maintain and improve the quality of life that our Creator has given us. The goal is the same.

    No, the goal is anti-capital....

Oh wait, you've changed yer mind about that too.

I say America has led the world for about 106 years, in conservation.

I question the leadership of the Bush administration during the past eight years and was one of the reasons why I absolutely did not want to see another Republican administration elected last month.

Whatever. The object of the organization is to make sure science stays good & politicized. You just proved it.

It does with me. If you don't think so, well, we'll just have to agree to disagree. :)

I started to hug a dogwood tree, but was scared away by its bark!

I ran into a tree skiing once. Took me a while to extricate myself from the branches, so you could say I hugged it. It wasn't on purpose.

Ken, if you like trees, you should see the size of some of the Ponderosa Pines & Larch trees we have. It would take a group hug to get around most of these babies.

Well, the way America could be a world leader in wildlife conservation would be to ban imported goods from China until they enact the same anti-pollution measures as the EPA has here in this country. Mandating America conserves wildlife (and we have plenty of laws already on the books) does not fix the global problem as long as we import goods manufactured by countries who totally ignore the global environment, i.e., China.

I guess there goes Palin's pipeline... No way she's going to get polar bears off the endangered species list during this administration...

    Yeah, I know.

My wife asked today if we could get a wolf. I said no. :)

I told her the closest domesticated dog to a wolf is a Siberian Husky. I have a friend who has one and it is a really nice dog. But with 8 dogs we aren't getting another dog for hopefully a very, very long time.
