In recent days, Southern Baptist pastor, Ken Silva, has lodged some very interesting accusations against me that bring into question not just my views on Rick Warren—but my entire Christian "walk with Jesus"!!!

I have now have posted an 8-part (yes, 8-part) reply to Mr. Silva. It is lengthy, but well worth the read because it gives a perfect look into what is going on in the Body of Christ with regard to this Rick Warren issue. We are now crossing into an area where individuals like Ken Silva are declaring that people like me are simply not right with God because we do not see things their way.

My lead off Part 1 article is at http://abanes.com/kensilva3.html

Of particular interest, I think, is my response to Silva's unfortunate accusations about my entire "walk with Jesus" being marred by nothing more than the fact that I happen to enjoy "country music" and the band "Green Day"—I kid you not. My response to these rather odd charges can be found in the last part of the series at:

    http://abanes.com/kensilva46_65.html

I have listed ths under Pastoral Ministries because Silva is a pastor Feedback would be appreciated—oh, and JOSEPH, it's all FREEEEE!!!!

    [:)

While I HATE country music, there are some secular bands I like. To say if you listen to anything besides christian music harms your walk, is crazy. I would say secular music is ok as long as the music does not condone sin. I would have to say that Green Day would not be a choice of mine, due to some offensive, questionable lyrics. The Bible does tell us to do all things for His glory, and I don't think you can honestly say listening to Green Day does this.

Read your material, Richard. You were gracious considering the vicious attacks made.

We don't (can't) defend everything done in the Body, but we can stand up against lies, distortion and outright intentional errors.

    Richard,

Are you bringing up the past for a reason, or did you forget the fact that I apologized to you for being wrong about you? You sure are a gracious person when you forgive someone, at least for a month or so.

Somehow, I am really wondering if you really did forgive and forget...or was that just some cliche you say to make yourself look better?

RA: Joey!!! Dude!!! Lighten up, I was joking. I thought we were so cool now that i could just kid around about our run-in, which truly has been totally forgiven and let go. I was seeking to enter a new realm of interaction—friendly, joking, casual, etc. That's all. Truly. Best to ya!!!!

    1. I find your way of addressing me demeaning, rude and disrespectful. I am neither a Joey nor a dude (I ceased to be a dude about my freshmen year in college when I grew up and became an adult).

    2. I am not laughing. If you have truly forgiven and forgotten, then don't bring it up again.

    3. I don't know you well enough, and neither do you know me well enough to casually joke and pal around with me. In time, perhaps, but not now.

RA: Uhm, okay. Well, sorry. I'm a bit taken aback here.

JOSEPH: I am neither a Joey nor a dude (I ceased to be a dude about my freshmen year in college when I grew up and became an adult).
    RA: Ooooookay.

    J: 2. I am not laughing.
    RA: I see that.

J: If you have truly forgiven and forgotten, then don't bring it up again.
    RA: okay.

J: I don't know you well enough, and neither do you know me well enough to casually joke and pal around with me. In time, perhaps, but not now.
RA: Yeah, sure. okay. Have a good weekend.

    Gentlemen,

Enough is enough. I don't know either one of you, but there are many people who I am sure read these posts that may be forming a negative opinion of you because of your statements.
