Not what I said. I asked if he was calling people names or referring to their actions. You said both. The original comment was about him calling people names. I have never heard him do that. And the link you posted did not deal with either.

 

On the contrary, the link showed him calling someone a name, and others commenting that they also heard him call others names...something that you claimed you never heard him do. Like I said, you hear what you want to hear.

Yes indeedly, that is quite a standard for us to set in this country. I know if I wanted this nation to comply with 1 Chron 7:14, Rush Limbaugh is the first person I would go to for help.

 

So, would you support someone like Ed Shultz instead?

Rush is not a leader of the church, nor has he EVER even began to suggest anything of that nature. He is in his business for two reasons, to make as much money as possible (because that IS the capitalistic American way and what is wrong with that?) and to be a leading spokesman for the conservative cause in America (which he has done faithfully each and every day he has been on the airwaves).

I sincerly believe that without his efforts America would have already been totally given over to socialism. We're well on our way anyway, and that SOME seem to be fighting FOR that to happen purely amazes me, but I guess the promise of something from the government treasury is always enticing to some -- even when they fail to realize that our government treasury has NOTHING IN IT EXCEPT OUR -- OUR -- TAX DOLLARS.

 

And I believe that our standards in America have slipped so far that we glorify slobs like Limbaugh, without typing out his entire title again. I do not understand your equating a free market, capitalism, not depending on the government, and making one's own destiny with a self indulgent pig. The man has no morals, no standards except what brings in money. He has no power, in fact, he is an off switch away from extinction. If you are going to follow a news commentator as a hero, at least choose one that acts a few levels above the animal instinct.

 

You are quite correct.

Scarlett has said that Limbaugh is not the Republican Party and to a great extent I agree with her. However that is not the perception of many people.

Simply do a search "Limbaugh GOP leader" and see the articles speaking of the fear the current candidates have of offending him and other far right "entertainers".

Rush exists because of his listeners. He has developed and cultivated those listeners through being consistent day after day, year after year.

He has INVITED challengers to do what he has done. Where are they?

The liberal left started an entire network of liberal radio stations and programs called Air America. Where are they? How many listeners? How much influence? Oh, I remember... NONE. Just like other media outlets like MSNBC.

Wondering when some of you guys will get it. Probably when they finally get around to coming for you. Like in other nations where the people WORKED FOR and VOTED FOR a Marxist socialist regime to replace the more conservative governments that existed prior, eventually EVERY class of people felt the sting of that error, even those within the Party system who were the only ones left with the perks we take for granted right now in America.

Rush is the antidote to the whole rest of the liberal media. He and others like Levine, Hannity, Medved, Hewitt, Beck, Savage, et al, are the only voices in opposition to the New York Times, national networks (with the exception of Fox, which tends to run down the middle), and cable networks such as CNN, MSNBC, ect. Before they existed, when liberal media spoke, they were the only language that people head. At least we now have a choice.

FWIW, Rush is certainly not my hero. My human hero is my oldest son, who has a very rare nerve disorder that is systematically shutting down his body.
He is one of three identified with that condition in the entire USA, and is working with uber-specialists from John Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, and Indiana University Hospital to attempt to isolate and treat this life-threatening disease. Jeremy, though unable to make use of his right arm, and who can barely drag his right leg behind him, works FULL TIME as a grounds shop mechanic where he single-handedly -- and the pun is intentional -- keeps a fleet of equipment of over 100 pieces from weed eaters to mowing equipment to diesel tractors to a fleet of vehicles operational including major mechanical repairs like the entire front suspension replacement on a Nissan pickup he is currently working on. In addition, he is the coordinator of the children's program at Sojourn in Louisville, where they have about 100 children at every service. On top of that, he is working his way through the pastor's and counselor's apprentiship program at Sojourn and will likely be added to their pastoral staff one of these days. I have never seen another human being who better exemplifies a Christlike attitude in spite of the physical weaknesses that beset him, and who performs as well as he does -- outrunning able-bodied persons at about double their pace.

Rush is just someone I listen to -- and someone that gets more than his fair share of flack -- which is why I am defending him. My SON is my hero! Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, and transcends hero status. HE is KING and LORD and MESSIAH! I have my priorities set straight and in order...
