Advertising on the bus

I am both impressed and inspired by seeing these signs on the buses. Would love to see it happen. Great means of witnessing.

 

More power to them! I had a chance to do something similar in our town, but it was way beyond our budget. EVERYTHING is expensive in Japan.

That is way cool and something i would love to be able to do with the church i'm serving...but we have a LONG way to go.
I moved here 1 1/2 year ago when we had an outreach budget of $450, a church promotion budget of $200...and $500 budgeted for flowers!

I will keep that image in my mind though for the future.

Bus advertising in my area with inspirational quotes from scripture are somewhat common. Also, churches often advertize their local events (carnivals, etc) on public transportation buses.

Question: Had we not known about this, and had there been a bus ad with, say, a quote from the Koran, would we all be up in arms saying the public bus company should not accept these ads, or would we be saying they have a right like everyone else?

 

Baptists have long been in the fore in the battle for religious freedom. I certainly hope we would have allowed them that right.

'Course, to a Japanese it doesn't matter--we Christians are as strange and rare to them as Muslims are.

 

Well, Mormons run their ads on TV, should we get up in arms over that?

Maybe if enough baptist churches and other evangelical denominations would take stuff like this seriously enough, we wouldn't have to worry about false belief systems using the same source of media.
