Alex Baldwin Is Sending A Soldier To College

    "Actor Alec Baldwin was so moved by the story of an 18-year-old Army soldier who is scheduled to serve in Iraq, he's going to help pay for her college education after she leaves the military. Baldwin was so moved by a March 4 New York Times story about Pvt. Resha Kane's last day with family and friends before going for training to prepare for serving in Iraq that he - not his people - tracked down Kane's mother at a discount store where she works to offer his assistance, his spokesman said."

    Even though I don't often agree with Baldwin I do think this is a good thing. I wish more people "with money" would step up to the plate and do things like this.

    Nothing changes your perceptions and biases more than getting to know people.

    If Alex actually gets to know this soldier it may well change the way he views our military.

    Dont care for Alec Baldwin at all but it was a very nice thing to do. That is what this country is all about. Private individuals giving of their own wealth to help others instead of depending on the government. If every multi-millionaire in the country would sponsor one soldier when he came home what a great thing that would be. Not just Hollywood but Donald Trump, Steve Forbes, Warren Buffett etc. They wouldnt even miss the amount of money it would cost to send one person to college.
