Life begins at conception. At conception, the one cell has everything to grow into a full grown human being. Yes, they cannot survive on their own but neither can a newborn baby. God formed us by His hand from the moment those two cells came together (and who knows if He's the One who pushes that sperm through), so if His own hand touches a baby from that point, who are we to say that it's not a life?

I believe life begins at the inception of God's plan prior to conception.

Thine eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Thy book they were all written, The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them.
    Psalms 139:16 NASB

My daughter and I went to see the Bodies Exhibit in NY 2 weeks ago. That was an absolutely amazing thing to see. HOW anyone can go through there and say that our bodies just evolved, I don't get it. But there was one room - the fetal development room that was the most amazing. They had babies from 5 weeks (3 weeks gestation) to full term and even at just 8 weeks (6 weeks from time of conception), there were TOES!! TOES PEOPLE!! I have to say that I cried in that room. Not so much for the fact that these were real babies who had been lost for whatever reason, but that God is just so utterly amazing in His handiwork. There's no way I could walk out of there saying that at any point a baby is just a clump of cells and not human. There's no way.

    Late night Mexician dinner:laugh:

The baptist pastor who said that were using the facilities of a Baptist church. When I had the chance, I infomed the pastor of the church (who owned the bldg) about he "theology" of the other baptist group. Though Pastor Jim believes life begins at conception - and showed some concern about the unusual belief of the "renting" pastor, much to my dismay, no action was taken - and they allowed the group to continue using the facilites.
    Oh my:tear:

I think it is irrelevant when life begins. Abortion should be illegal. Period. Mankind is not the One to make this determination.

OK,,Let's lock up all those dastardly women who get pregnant out of wedlock. Let's lock up all those women who dare to get d&c's to save their lives. Let's lock up all those women who would die giving birth because of medical defects. Great solution. Send them to prison!

    Cheers,

    Jim

If in saving a pregnant woman's life an unborn child dies, then that is not the same thing as intentionally setting out to kill an unborn child, which is what I consider abortion to be.

I think I've mentioned this before but D&Cs not usually for abortions. The vast majority do not involve pregnancy at all. I've had 7 D&Cs and two involved a baby - but only one involved the removal of the baby. My 5 that were not pregnancy related were due to hemorraging and I would have bled to death had I not had them. The first one for a pregnancy was after a miscarriage and the bleeding would not stop. The final one was for my last miscarriage and my body would not miscarry the baby who had died the 2 weeks before, so the doctor decided to remove the baby (who was most definitely dead as per 3 ultrasounds) to try to find out why I miscarried again.

But from my understanding, D&Cs are not the commonly used form of first trimester abortion. It is mostly used for gynecological issues rather than obstetrical issues.

Also wanted to find out what birth defects would cause a woman to die giving birth? I've heard of none.

As for the women who got pregnant out of wedlock, we should not support their right to kill a child just because they were irresponsible and disobedient to God's Word. Instead we should show compassion and grace - and help them through a difficult time, supporting them in either keeping the baby or putting it up for adoption. We should assist them in their pregnancy, labor and years as a single mama. Why kill a baby instead? Is that what Jesus would have us do?

Then get off your chairs and get out there helping them. I don't see the help. I do see all the self-righteous judgements.

If you don't know about the women who have died trying to give birth, you haven't spent much time in hospitals Thankfully a lot of these problems have been worked out with modern medicine and that includes the removal of a mass from blocked tubes.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Most people want an absolute ban on abortion.then that would iclude d&c's, birth control pills, condoms and every other device.
