Franken has a number of advantages over Coulter, the most notable being:

    1. When he makes up a fantasy, he tells you it's a fantasy.

    2. He can make fun of himself.

    3. He doesn't whine.

How can you use the words Coulter and brilliant in the same sentence? This is, undoubtedly, one of the most ignorant statements I have ever read here at the Baptist Board. What a joke! </font>[/QUOTE]Maybe he read the blurbs on her book jacket but never actually heard her speak. Or, it could be that he just doesn't get out very much.

Yes, I would rather read her, or hear her speak over Al Franken. Any day.

Ann Coulter is a nutcase, pure and simple. She probably gets all her information from Wing Nut Daily.

When the National Review let her go for her "kill them and convert their people to Chrisianity" frothing, she claimed they were violating her First Amendment rights.

The conservatives at the National Review asked reasonably, how a supposed lawyer could justify the notion that she had a Constitutional right to insist that they publish her writing.

    She's a humorless nutcase.

You want rightwing humor? P.J. O'Rourke. Charles Grassely ain't bad, on a good day. Otherwise, it's pretty hard to find any.

Years ago, Franken was a humorist who was not as viciously partisan as he is now. Unfortunately now, Franken is a whining propogandist who regurgitates the bromides that only the naive accept. I have no time for this kind of garbage. Serious students of culture, policy, economy, usually don't waste their time with such tripe. Frnaken needs to stick to screenwriting and SNL. Lord knows SNL could use his help.

While no Coulter fan, doesn't Coulter at least have a poly sci or JD? Not sure. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    From www.anncoulter.com :

Coulter clerked for the Honorable Pasco Bowman II of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and was an attorney in the Department of Justice Honors Program for outstanding law school graduates.

After practicing law in private practice in New York City, Coulter worked for the Senate Judiciary Committee, where she handled crime and immigration issues for Senator Spencer Abraham of Michigan. From there, she became a litigator with the Center For Individual Rights in Washington, DC, a public interest law firm dedicated to the defense of individual rights with particular emphasis on freedom of speech, civil rights, and the free exercise of religion.

A Connecticut native, Coulter graduated with honors from Cornell University School of Arts & Sciences, and received her J.D. from University of Michigan Law School, where she was an editor of The Michigan Law Review.

Tom, Ken, good points indeed. A lot of the loud left (Franken, Michael Moore, Martin Sheen) are very UNeducated people. I have respect (though I seriously disagree with) someone like Howard Zinn, because he at least has academic credentials. Bill O'Reilly has two Masters, one from Harvard; Coulter a J.D., Monica Crowley, a PhD, etc.

I was under the impression that they gave out law degrees like candy these days, which probably explains how Coulter got one. [IMG]

Not at the UM Law School (one of the top law schools in teh country). And to be the editor of the law review is a serious substantive credential.

Franken is a blathering fool, but I'm no fan of Coulter.

I clearly recall one of her columns, which was entitled "Must Christian Conservatives Be Fascists?"

To my knowledge, Coulter is neither a Christian or a Conservative. Her philosophy is primarily Libertarian.

She appears to have no problem with abortion and gay rights.

Her primary method of "combatting" liberals appears to be long, loud ad hominem tirades.

I have her book Slander. It's long on name-calling, and short on real conservative strategies that might actually help solve some of our problems.

Coulter went to the Univ of Michigan? That's even more reason to dislike her. Go VOLS!

Seriously, anyone who thinks they give law degrees away must be nuts, or they have no experience with the legal admission process or profession. Or maybe both :D

I am not a fan of Bill O'Reilly. Anyone who would call the Drudge Report a "threat to democracy", has more than one screw loose. And I see him put his foot in his mouth often enought o have e-mailed him & told him so.

Hannity is a bully, and not very funny. But he's on the right side of most of the issues he talks about.

Glenn Beck is my favorite. I know some folks will laugh at that, but the same folks are lying, right here, about Ann Coulter's credentials.

So what do you do ?
