I don't know. I have a feeling we might not even go to a bowl game this year. We should have beat Texas last weekend...we messed around on 3rd and about 20 and threw the game away at the end. We should have slaughtered ULM...they should not have scored more than a field goal...got 20 on us. Is this team too young and inexperienced right now, but destined for greatness in future years? I am just having my doubts that they will be able to handle real teams in the SEC if they can't win against Texas and slaughter and utterly humiliate ULM.

    Joseph,
"Hope springs eternal from the human breast."
Don't count the Razorbacks out of a bowl game yet!

I don't see much hope if they can't beat two teams from lesser leagues.

The secondary is very talented but very, very inexperienced and has been giving up big plays - which helped ULM stay in the game for about the first 25 minutes.

Hopefully, by the end of the year they will be much, much better. I figure they will beat South Carolina, Mississippi, and Mississippi State. Obviously, they will be underdogs against Georgia, Florida, Auburn and LSU.

Therefore, their hopes of going to a bowl game, I think, ride on defeating Alabama in Fayetteville this Saturday so they will have at least 6 wins to be bowl eligible.

I am having great doubts they can do it unless Nutt just works the dog out of them before them.

Plus, their record in that palace they built in Fayetville is not that great. Maybe, I would be a little more hopeful if the game were going to be played in Little Rock.

I am not so sure even about that this year. I watched them play Georgia, and they played them very well.

Well, even if the Hogs don't make it to a bowl game this season, the future is very, very bright. A couple more recruiting classes like this last one and the Hogs will a conference championship contender on a consistent basis once again as they were in the old SWC for pretty much 30 years.

I predict about a 5 or 6 win season this year. But, I do agree that the future should be very bright with the talent we are getting. They just need more experience.

With the loss of Alabama's starting quarterback and having to start a inexperienced quarterback with 0 starts on the road in the SEC, I think the chance of Arkansas winning increased a great deal. I still feel that Alabama will somehow pull out the win, because I refuse to enter a game with any other mindset.

Although I despise Arkansaw, these 'young' players of theirs are quite impressive, from what I have seen. I think they will win enough games for a bowl, and the SEC West could come down to their game against LSU.

You're right Joseph... the Hogs should have beaten Texas. But all you really can take away from that game is that Arkansas is talented. The ace is your coach.... also the bane of Texas.

Nutt will get everything his players have... they just didn't have enough this early in the season. The Hogs could easily upset Auburn or LSU. They should beat Ole Miss, MSU, & Alabama.

They also get Georgia three weeks after LSU, two weeks after the Vols, and a week before the Gators. They will probably come into Arkansas beaten up and possibly looking ahead to Florida especially if they are still undefeated.

I predicted UGA to win it all but I haven't been impressed so far. SC had every opportunity to get them and Marshall isn't nearly as good as they have been. UGA beat them 13-3 and struggled.

Maybe there is hope for them going to a bowl game this year. Perhaps they are not as bad as I thought they were. I really like Peyton Hillis. Now, there is a freshman who really delivers.

As long as the Hogs defeat South Carolina, Mississippi, and Mississippi they will at least qualify for a bowl game. Their other four games will be very, very, very difficult to win; they will have to play almost flawlessly to win them - no turnovers and no big plays given up by the defense and Matt Jones playing like the Heisman Trophy candidate he should be.

The Razorbacks have lost Zach Tubbs, Peyton Hillis and Derrick Moore to injuries. Carlos Ousley has quit the team. What does this leave us with? Matt Jones and Birmingham? They are both great football players, but I don't think they can carry the whole team. I don't think we will win anymore than 5 games this year. Prediction: Razorbacks will finish the season 5-6 and the only bowl they will go to this year is the toilet bowl. This is going to be the worst season yet. It is, however, a rebuilding year and I think they will do well in the next two years.

Looking at the upcoming basketball season, the basketball Razorbacks should be much better this season. I think they will make the NCAA tournament this season. [IMG]

3:51 left in just the first quarter and we are already down 17-0. We are getting slaughtered the way we should have slaughtered ULM. Are there any Hog fans out there who are as pessimistic about the season this year as I am.

We knew going into the season that the odds were that the Hogs would lose to Texas, Florida, Auburn, Georgia, and LSU. If the Hogs beat South Carolina, Mississippi, and Mississippi State then they will be eligible for a bowl game. That's all we could realistically hope for this season. And that hope is still realistic.
