Australia: No Ham for Christmas, might offend Muslim patients

    Never worried about offending Jewish patients. I have concluded that Christians have traditionally used ham intentionally to offend Jews.

    This was tried in a council in Victoria and lasted all of one day, the public backlash was to great. The pork industry is struggling in Australia, and stunts like this get people angry.

    As an aside, if the hospital serves only halaal meat to patients then they are actually offending Christians because they are forcing them to eat meat that has been offered to an idol. All halaal meat is pointed towards the black rock in the direction of mecca as it is slaughtered and blessed. Christians may eat meat that is sacrificed to idols if they wish, yet they also have the right to say no to it also.
