When I agree with a post, I generally just type "ITA" and that's it. When I try to post that, it won't let me. It says it's too short.

I've also tried just a "LOL" or a smiley or something. Nope, not long enough.

Then I remembered that it was a Baptist board. That was all the explanation I needed ;)

    ?????

" Baptistboard.com is set up for the long-winded??"

    I resemble that implication!

Also interesting, I just noticed that I have managed to have 'lost' about 5 posts in my post-count since last night!

No, I just wondered how they managed to vanish into thin air, overnight. I happened to notice that I had the number of 7299 up and thought about posting that I had hit 7300, on the nose with that particular post, in the "This is my post # -" thread, but decided against doing so, for the exact reason that I do not count 'post-count' numbers for points.

I actually have more posts (in three years) than several of the Moderators. So what? (They gotta' read all your and my long-winded posts, and probably don't have all that much time left to compose that many, of their own, afterward!)

However, I will occasionally cite the rough number of posts (or time around the BB) some others, certainly including you, as well as I have made, when some BB 'newbie', who has been around for all of a coupla' weeks, and with 23 posts or so, decides to get up 'on a high-horse' and be combative, at times.

I do think that the >12K posts that you and I have collectively, in about three years, each, does (or at least should) lend a certain small amount of credibility to what we might say, or have said, when responding to that above mentioned theoretical poster, would you not agree?

BTW, I think I just 'figgered out' that "ITA" stands for "I Totally Agree" but that is only an educated guess, I would offer

The Baptist Board set up does not help me. I type 90wpm, but with corrections that amounts to 10 words a minute and relatively short posts.

Plus with my age, I forget, adter the first sentence, what I intended to say.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Well, I'm not in Ed's league when it comes to long winded posts but I have been known to spin a yarn or two. Bitsy's food discussions kept me going for a while and the "Banning the Person Above Me" thread has been a hoot but nothing has compared to the political thread for the last several months. Boy! has it ever been long winded there and the wind has been hot as well. Could you imagine what this nation would be like if we did not settle things by voting? Or Could you imagine a world where Baptist are not long winded? :wavey:

It's probably about time to start a food discussion again, seeing as how it's the holidays and all. . . . .

If I type too long a message, nobody will read it. Same with my preachig; too long and folks can't handle it.

So I try to follow the oilfield rule - drill hard for 45 minutes, then, if you don't strike oil, quit boring.

Some preachers don't even listen to God!

    Luther said: Stand up cheerfully
    Speak out manfully
    Leave up speedily

    Cheers,

    Jim
