    LOL: Laughing Out Loud

    LOL = Lots of Luck!
(i.e. 'not very likely', if sarcastic & 'I wish you well' if sincere)

Hey! Let's start a new trend by using full words. I know it's a throwback to an earlier time when the printed word actually spelled things out -- but it just may work. And who knows, it may be the wave of the future. Just be sure to credit Rippon for his bold new/old initiative.

Amen, Brother Rippon -- Preach it!

I've always been for NOT USING PRONOUNS. It is especially bad in the Bible when two people are having a conversation about the relationship between a third person and God Almighty.

Dan 9:26-27 (Geneva Bible, 1599 or 1587 Edition?):
And after threescore and two weekes, shall Messiah be slaine, and shall haue nothing,, and the people of the prince that shall come, shall destroy the citie and the Sanctuarie, and the end thereof shalbe with a flood: and vnto the end of the battell it shalbe destroyed by desolations.
27 And he shall confirme the couenant with many for one weeke: and in the middes of the weeke he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the ouerspreading of the abominations, he shall make it desolate, euen vntill the consummation determined shalbe powred vpon the desolate.

One's Eschatology must answer these questions to be consistent. But the eschatology shall vary according to the answer(s). I put my answers, not somebody else's answer.

Does 'the prince' mean the Messiah? NO, big NO WAY
Is the first 'he' in v27 the Messiah or the Prince? the Prince
Is the second 'he' in v27 the Messiah or the Prince? the Prince
Is the Third 'he' in v27 the Messiah or the Prince? the Prince

for I believe that the Prince is a Roman, the Antichrist of 1 John, the Beast from the Sea of Revelation 12, the man of perdition of 2 Thess. 2:3, and etc.

You can space it out and then put a character (like a period) down the line.

If Brother Rippon has his way, we won't have a Baptist Board at all but will return the the age old tradition of writing letters instead. :tongue3:

If I waited for a written letter, no one would ever talk to me. LOL! Our families start Christmas shopping in September so we get it in enough time to wrap it.

When I'm debating, I don't tend to use internet acronyms. However, if I want to just say I agree, I do tend to use "ITA".

Sometimes I just want to put a little laughy face in there. I'll have to try throwing in an extra period down the line so I can still do that---ya know, like bucking the system. :)

If you hadn't said, I wouldn't have had any idea what ITA meant since I've never seen it before. Personally I don't like abbreviations since I don't always know what they mean.

I also don't pay any attention to long posts. It usually takes very few words for me to say what I need to say. A person's point gets lost in a really long post.
