Yes or No: Did Bush say he supports the rights of states to sanction same-sex marriage, as Obama has?

Unless the U.S. constitution is changed, then states certainly have the right to sanction homosexual marriage.

I have more reason to believe that Senator Obama opposes homosexual marriage than to believe that you oppose it. I haven't heard you state such on national TV as I have Senator Obama.

I missed where Obama said that - but Bush said he supports the rights of states to sanction same sex civil unions.

Hey...all I did was post his position and his votes. How does that make me incorrigible? :saint:

I also saw a ten minute exchange with Alan Keyes from the senate race in IL where he espouses a similar position, so it doesn't appear that his rhetoric has changed, unlike some in the Presidential race

Oh, so we don't believe what we say unless we do so on national TV? Come on, friend. You know better than this.

The point, Tom, is that Senator Obama plainly stated that he does not support homosexual marriage yet immediately some posters called him a liar and/or questioned his veracity.

Why didn't you say so? I hear you. No win situation for Obama. Not saying I trust him 100% but we have to go on his statements and his record, just like everyone else. He deserves that much, even if he is a......gasp.....Democrat  (some on here just had a heart attack)

And it is a sad commentary when the situation involves Christians savaging a fellow believer.

Obama is not a fellow believer. Just check out the thelogy of his church. Black Liberation theology is not Christian.

Yes, he is. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar.

We believe that all of the baptized 'belong body and soul to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.' No matter who – no matter what – no matter where we are on life's journey – notwithstanding race, gender, sexual orientation, class or creed – we all belong to God and to one worldwide community of faith. All persons baptized – past, present and future – are connected to each other and to God through the sacrament of baptism. We baptize during worship when the community is present because baptism includes the community's promise of 'love, support and care' for the baptized – and we promise that we won't take it back – no matter where your journey leads you.

Can you believe that baptism saves you and be a Christian? Absolutely not!

It is either Christ or nothing.. if a person adds any works to salvation they are not saved....

IN Obama's Testimony, he mentions that he was saved when he came forth and was baptized....

If he is trusting his baptism to save him, he is not saved.

But he is convincing "the elect" across the nation to believe his "delusion"

Obamania is scary... it is real.

It amazes me that anyone claiming the name of Christ can support Obama

The liar is the one that states emphatically he is.

You'll have to go back to 2004. In and ABC interview (Charles Gibson) he stated clearly that he did so and split from his party platform. Links to that video were here on the BB at that time.

HERE and HERE are links to the story. Haven't found the actual video yet and it is past my bedtime :)
