BB Upgrade 2

    As many of you know by now, the BB was upgraded last night. Although, I experimented with various new color schemes, I decided to continue to use the old color scheme with some minor modifications.

    Suggestions for continued design improvements would be appreciated.

    All BB icons have been changed. Hopefully, they are cleaner looking.

    Please let me know what you think of the new "profile", "home", "email", "private message", "edit", "quote" images.

    Other changes include the "new topic", "new poll" and "post reply" buttons, the "close topic", "move topic" and "delete topic" images (which are only used by moderators).

    Some of the new features include:

    "Report Post" feature - located at the bottom of each post - allows members to mail the forum moderator and board administrator about a post he or she feels is inappropriate.

    Jump to New Posts feature - Located at the top of each topic - when clicked, it takes users to the posts in that topic that were made after their last visit to the board.

    "Topic moved" icon - indicates if a topic was moved rather than closed.

    Other new features:

    New email preference for users - users now have a mailing form presented rather than their email address. Only registered members may mail others using the mail form.

    Improved search engine - try it now.

    There are 2 other new features I'd like to mention.

    1.) Avatars are coming soon. We are in the process of collecting Christ-honoring images that people can select as their avatars. If you know of websites (other than LindaB's) that offer free Christian images, please send me a PM.

    2.) Custom user titles - these appear under a member's name and are based on the number of posts as follows:

    - Junior Member - 0-30 posts
    - Member - 31-499 posts
    - Senior Member - 500-999 posts
    - 1000 Posts Club - 1000-1999 posts
    - 2000 Posts Club - 2000-2999 posts, etc.

    Hey Webmaster!

    You have been working your little fingers to the bone. I like the way the icons for profile and such are. I like the white background better than all the colors. Those greys really hurt the eyes. Is this a shade of green with red border. I like it. It is not harsh at all.

    I also sent you my picture. I was wondering if you received it.

    mr. webmaster! being at the other side of the globe, i get to visit this site while most people at your side are well asleep.

    i think i was one of the first few who saw the changes you made, and indeed appreciated it!

    i have actually seen this site change in appearance within hours, including those minutes when the changes are not yet complete (though i'm not certain whether it's just my pc or your changes that makes me see it differently). what goes in my mind then is the commitment being given for the improvement of this board.

    in the meantime, it's my turn to work, while the sun is at our side [​IMG]

    Keep up the fantastic work you are doing a great job. I am sure this has been asked, but is there a way to have the thread showing while you type a post? If not, I will just keep opening two windows while I post. Again you are doing a fantastic job, I find myself checking the board before I check my email!

    We're glad to have members on "the other side of the globe" [​IMG] One of the administrators mentioned a few days ago that the BB never sleeps. Even at night (in the US) there are people reading/posting.
