Cory is right on ................
The problem is that none of those things saves. The Gospel does.
If I were to play that game, would that convict someone who already believes they're righteous of their sin? Of course not.
Its only by using the law to show them their sinfulness and then preach the Gospel them that they are saved.
Evangelism isn't about telling someone or showing them how good we are, but telling them how Christ died so that they might be forgiven of their sin, reconciled to God, and adopted as children of His.
Unfortunately you aren't showing anybody anything if you are not living the gospel. People are no longer going to pay attention to any of the religious if they talk the talk but don't walk the walk.
It is not about religious talk. What in the world does that mean anyway? It is about the word of God. God's word has the power of the Holy Ghost. It has God's power. Our lives, our experiences are not the gospel. The gospel is Christ's story and that alone.
That very same gospel is what saves people not our lives and how we live them. Christians should be walking the talk but we need to be careful not to conflate that with the gospel.
Wow just wow....are you serious? And you are the lordship salvation poster boy on here? You are not getting that people are watching you....waiting to see the change in you....waiting to see you display the love of Christ in your life?
Really? I'm not getting that? Show me where I said anything to legitimately lead anyone to believe that. Maybe it is you that is not getting it. It is you who struggles to grasp the difference between our lives and the actual gospel.
How many people have you shared the gospel with recently? How many people have you discipled after leading them to the Lord?
So this is a contest now?
No not a contest. If you are going to question me about my intent and what I say then I want to know if you are even engaged in regular soul winning. I want to know if you are just blowing general criticism from the cheap seats or are you acutally taking the gospel out to the world. I want to know if you are just talking about sharing the gospel and how it should be done or are you walking the talk.
See walking the talk is about far more than just living good. We need take the word of God out to the lost. We need to do more than live nice we need to open our bibles to the lost and tell them Christ's story.
OK, then you should go back into my archives.
And I agree with you....either your all in or your all out.
